The Screwdriver Model 2400 is 24 1/2 inches tall fully retracted.
After using and looking at other companies screwdriver type antennas,
it is by far the best built, best performing, and best looking antenna
on the market today.
All parts are machined in house to one thousandth of an inch tolerance.
And to my knowledge the Model 2400 is the only screwdriver antenna of
its size that will handle a full 1,500 watts continuous power.

When correctly installed this antenna will provide continuous
coverage from 80 thru 10 meters with a 5 foot whip,
with an SWR of 1.5 to 1 or less.

The motors are 12 volt, High Torgue screwdriver type with high quality planetary gear reduction. We machine a new output shaft for the motors so coupling to the drive shaft is neat, clean, and very durable. We install filter capacitors on the motors so they are very quiet if you receive tune.

There are several reasons why I chose the screwdriver type motor.
  • Speed, the antenna can tune fom 10 meters to 80 meters in less than a minute.

  • The torque rating of the screwdriver type is 40+ inch-pounds,
        The Pittman 12 volt commercial grade gear motors are rated
        at less than 1 inch-pound.

  • It is user replaceable. If for some reason the motor should fail
        you can get a replacement at your local Hobby or Radio shack store.


    • The fiberglass coil form is also made in house, we lay up the fiberglass
    and resin to a 5/16" wall thickness and then machine to 1/4" wall thickness.
    We then machine U shaped threads into the coil form for the 14 ga. wire.
    14 ga. wire is approximately .065" so we cut the threads .055" deep,
    we then apply another coat of resin and wind the wire, so approx. 80 percent
    of the wire is embedded in the resin to hold it in place.
    The other companies only cut a shallow groove, most of the wire is unsupported.
    The coil is wound at 10 turns an inch for higher inductance and efficiency.

    The paint is an Automotive Color-Coat Clear-Coat Lacquer finish, First we apply
    Dupont self etching primer, the Fill & Sand Primer, then Wet-Sanded. Then the
    Color-Coat is applied and Wet-Sanded, and finaly the Clear-Coat is applied
    for a durable long-lasting finish. The antennas come in your choice of
    (Black, White, Red, or Blue). Custom colors to Match your Vehicle are also
    available at your request, (a small charge may apply).

    The feed point uses an SO239 connector and transformer match, instead of a shunt
    coil, for better performance. If needed the transformer can easily be re tapped to
    match your application. The transformer is enclosed to keep water (ice) and dirt
    away from it, unlike others that use a shunt coil that is exposed to the elements.

    All antennas have a built in turn encoder that counts 5 times per revolution
    of the drive shaft for higher count resolution. It will work with all controllers,
    however, all our antennas come with a digital controller.
